Bloomers (clothing)

Bloomers, also called the bloomer, the Turkish dress, the American dress, or simply reform dress, are divided womens garments for the lower body. They were developed in the 19th century as a healthful and comfortable alternative to the heavy, constricting dresses worn by American women. They take their name from their best-known advocate, the womens rights activist Amelia Bloomer.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu gi

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu gi is a uniform for training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, adapted from the keikogi in modern Japanese martial arts, especially Kodokan judo. A gi, meaning dress or clothes, is typically composed of a heavy cotton jacket, reinforced drawstring trousers, and a belt which communicates rank. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu gi is also sometimes referred to as kimono by non-Japanese speakers. Some Jiu-Jitsu school systems avoid using a gi.

Compression garments are pieces of clothing that fit tightly around the skin. In medical contexts, compression garments provide support for people who have to stand for long periods or have poor circulation. Cricket cap

A cricket cap is a type of soft cap, often made from felt, that is a traditional form of headwear for players of the game of cricket, regardless of age or gender. It is usually a tight-fitting skullcap, usually made of six or eight sections, with a small crescent shaped brim that points downwards over the brow to provide shade for the eyes. It is often, but not always, elasticised at the rear to hold it in place upon the wearers head. Sometimes, rather than tight-fitting, the cricket cap comes in a baggy variety, that is always kept in place by elastic.

Cricket clothing and equipment

Cricket clothing and equipment is regulated by the laws of cricket. Cricket clothing, known as cricket whites, or flannels, is slightly loose fitting so as not to restrict players movements. Use of protective equipment, such as cricket helmets, gloves and pads, is also regulated.

Cummerbund

A cummerbund is a broad waist sash in various designs including pleats, that was a worn with double-breasted tail coats, it is now often worn with single-breasted dinner jackets. The cummerbund originated in Iran, and was adopted by British military officers in colonial India, where they saw it worn by sepoys of the British Indian Army. It was adopted as an alternative to the waistcoat, and later spread to civilian use. The modern use of the cummerbund to Europeans is as a component of traditional black tie and white tie events.
