The Iranian American Sport & Culture Association is a non-profit sports organization initially formed as the Iranian American Wrestling Association in Los Angeles in 2013.

1. Mission

IASA formed in 2013 in response to International Olympic Committees proposal to drop wrestling from the games from 2020.

IASA was founded to bring together Iranians and Americans through sport, promote friendship, to build mutual understanding, and to engage in US-Iranian sport exchanges events. IASA seeks to develop the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty and respect for authority, and using sport as a tool to promote positive social change in the lives of young people and to prevent youth substance abuse and violence. IASA strives to preserve, expand and advance interests of Iranian-American sports including: wrestling, Pahlevani and zoorkhaneh rituals, backgammon, polo, etc.

IASA supports womens sports, and promoting womens sports in underrepresented sports and communities.

IASA aims to supervise, sponsor and assist a disciplined and competitive sports academy and program of wrestling, pahalvani, and zoorkhaneh.
