ⓘ Parque Los Berros
Parque Los Berros, in Xalapa, Veracruz, is located a short distance to the southeast of the center of town, in the neighbourhood of the Stadium.
Its name was derived from edible herb called "berros" watercress that used to grow in the area.
During the 19th century, this place will turn into Mosquitoes in a swampy area during the summer rainy season. In the rest of the year, he was occasionally used for racing, as shown in the engraving published in the history of Antigua de Jalapa of Manuel Rivera Cambas have, in 1871.
On this site, most likely, army camping, 20 APR 1847, that the members of the fourth Illinois infantry regiment played the first game of baseball in Mexico, learnt from oral tradition and recorded in the 1909 edition, perhaps for the first time played outside of the U.S. as a bat, they used the "wooden crutches" Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna that they had captured a day or so before, at the battle of Cerro Gordo.
