ⓘ Sarcobatus Flat
Sarcobatus Flat is a closed valley in western Nye County, Nevada between Goldfield and Beatty. The Bullfrog Hills form the southern boundary and the Grapevine Mountains along with Bonnie Claire Flat form the western boundary. Pahute Mesa bounds the area to the east and north. To the north the flat is contiguous with Lida Valley and Stonewall Flat.
Us route 95 runs along the northeast side of the apartment between Springdale in the Northern part of the toad hills, and the junction Scottys and Stonewall pass between the slate range on the West and Stonewall mountains to the East. In Scottys junction Nevada state route 267 heads South-East to Bonnie Claire and in the National Park Death Valley in California. Part of the Nevada Park stretches in the southern part along the Northern slopes Bullfrog hills. Nellis air force base is a part along the North-Eastern outskirts of the apartment.
The lowest place in the apartment is a salt plain to the East of Bonnie Claire at a height of 3943 feet. Bonnie peak at the Northern end of a spur of the mountain grapevine and less than one mile West-South-West of the lowest point has a height 4969 feet. Next peak South Vine rises to a height of 8737 ft along the crest of grapes, adjacent to the California border. Grapevine peak is located about six miles West of Sarcobatus floor in the southern part.
The apartment is located in one of the Central Nevada desert basins, which together with the cactus flat on the North-East is a large cactus-Sarcobatus watershed. The apartment is part of the Tonopah basin and is separated from the Amargosa Valley in the Mojave desert in the South.
