2010 Arab Capital of Culture

The 2010 Arab Capital of Culture was chosen to be Doha, Qatar. The Arab Capital of Culture is an initiative undertaken by UNESCO, under the Cultural Capitals Program to promote and celebrate Arab culture and encourage cooperation in the Arab region. The Qatari government has begun preparations in many different fields including a US million Cultural Village.

Alkap

Alkap is a form of Bengali folk performance popular in the districts of Murshidabad, Malda and Birbhum in West Bengal and Chapai Nawabganj, Randajshahi in Bangladesh. It has also spread to the adjoining areas of Jharkhand and Bihar such as Dumka and Purnia.

Bashu culture

Bashu culture, sometimes also named Chongqing-Sichuan culture, refers to the culture of Sichuan province and Chongqing city, China and the surrounding areas, including parts of the neighboring provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou, since the Han Chinese groups in these two provinces also primarily speak Southwestern Mandarin nowadays. It has a long history of over 3000 years, widely regarded as one of the cradles of modern Chinese civilization.

Beni ʿAmir

Beni ʿAmir is a Moroccan tribe of Hilali-Arab descent, who settled in Morocco in the 12th century. The tribe is part of the Tadla confederacy.

The black and red ware culture is a late Bronze Age Indian and early Iron Age Indian archaeological culture, associated with the Indus Valley Civilisation and South India. Bashkeer Aligmani

Bashkeer Alighmani literally means German towel or more precisely German hand towel. This usually cotton fabric measuring about 30 cm by 90 cm with a black background and very colorful floral design. It is worn as a headdress for women in some cities Hauran, in particular Ar Ramtha in Northern Jordan. It is believed to have been returned from Germany in the 1970-ies, when many Ramthan is used to import a used Mercedes-Benz cars from Germany.
